In my honest opinion, taking a photographic trip to the Canadian Rockies, is traveling to a unique place for every nature photographer. There I found the union of landscape photography with wildlife photography, finding free fauna wherever it was, intertwined with forests, mountains and lakes to compose scenes like the ones we all dream of finding.
A photographic trip to the Canadian Rockies is to drive along the main road that runs through them, from south to north, from Banff to Jasper, it is something that cannot be described without images.
Mountainous massifs covered by forests that extend without any cut beyond where the view reaches.
Stunning rocks that are reflected in lakes of blue and greenish tones.
Transparent rivers that are born from waterfalls that come off the top of large mountains.
It is incredible to travel on the same road where you can see such a landscape, full of lakes with fauna so present along the entire way, seeing us accompanied by elks or coyotes, always on freedom.
Well-known names such as the Athabasca waterfall, Lake Moraine, Lake Louis or the glacier area, will be names that will sound on our trip, but we will have to leave the most tourist areas if we want to achieve different results, trying to locate groups of elk, moose or the most wonderful landscapes we can imagine.
Grizzly bears also inhabit part of the mountains and forests, however, they are not as common in this area, having to go further west to find them if it is our purpose, as is the case of another of our trip in search of grizzly bears in freedom.
Just think of a landscape with a blue lake, in which a mountain is reflected, a mountain with snow on its peaks and slopes… Got it? That’s thinking about the Canadian Rockies.
